We help lovers in Cardiff choose a perfect restaurant to enjoy a wonderful night.
Five restaurants with their own specialties give Cardiff couples a feel that romantic candlelight dinners do not just happen at high-spending Michelin restaurants.
1.Miller & Carter
“Everyone I knew who has come here has absolutely raved about it. Now that I’ve finally tried Miller & Carter for my birthday, I finally understand all the hype! This place is FANTASTIC and AFFORDABLE!” said Clarissa, one client of this steak house.
Yes, The food is definitely worth it and it’s fine for a special occasion such as Valentine’s Day. Steaks are around £20 – £25 but they do come with plenty of sides so you do actually feel full afterward.
The atmosphere inside is fantastic though; they have an open kitchen with the smell of the steak wafting through, making your mouth water as you’re waiting for your meal! Highly recommend booking before you attend because this place can get very busy.
2. THE IVY
If you have a high demand for the environment, you and your beloved one should not miss THE IVY.
THE IVY is massive and you’re greeted by an impressively stocked bar complete with a giant Welsh dragon on top. Despite the size, it still managed to feel cozy and intimate.
You’ll be grateful for the comfortable surroundings as the menus are not a quick read. There are a well-stocked wine menu and no shortage of choices to pick from on the a la carte menu. There are plenty of options for veggies and vegans too, with a separate menu listing dozens of suitable choices.
3. The Potted Pig
The Potted Pig, located in reconditioned, brick-lined bank vaults, is a jewel. They describe their food as British, with an occasional nod to French classics in one direction and New York grills in the other, and that just about does it.
Still, there is a range of wine list with affordable price, which doesn’t act as if it’s trying to pat you down for cash. Nor does the menu, with starters at £6 and most mains in the low teens.
4. Mowgli—Indian street food
You cannot tell from the outside of the restaurant, but inside, you’re greeted with what I can only describe as a quirky, bohemian-style decor with Mowgli’s own unique twist. You can choose to sit on chairs, benches or if you’re feeling a little adventurous, ‘swing seats’ – a must try!
why not to try some exotic flavour with tour lover at such a special day.
Pho pride themselves on ‘great value, healthy Vietnamese street food that is cooked fresh daily’. in terms of value for money and taste, they certainly meet their objective.
The restaurant is named after the traditional broth filled with rice noodles, veggies, meat or tofu and is similar to Japanse ramen and is Vietnam’s number one street food.
