From Italy to India, there are various dishes and desserts to try. Are you ready to take up the challenge?

Have you tried buffet before? Would you visit a place where you can eat as much as you want and given various kinds of food at once? Are you ready to take on a challenge to go foodventure from around the world?

There are three popular buffet places in Cardiff, FeD and Red Hot Buffet in City Centre; and JRC buffet in Cardiff Bay. FeD is already popular among students as it offers two pounds discount for them, and even gives out additional discount catalog such as birthday discount, free meal, free drink etc. But how about Red Hot? Read the comparison between Red Hot and FeD below!

Upon entering the two stories of Red Hot, it looked spacy enough to fit more than 200 people in. The lights were dimmer than FeD, it made you want to stay for hours enjoying the food and catching up with friends. As I seated there, cutleries and drink menu were provided on the table. I enjoyed the signature cocktail which not only thirst quenching but also made with fresh juice.

Similarly with FeD, there are around 100 kinds of meal categorised into starters, Japanese food (sushi and seafood), Italian food, British food, Indian food, Chinese food, Tex-Mex food, and desserts. However, you don’t need to taste them all, we get this covered!

In sum, all the dishes tasted quite decent, even if they were not exceptionally delicious. My Indian friend who I went with agreed that the Indian food were hardly distinguishable one another, they unfortunately lacked its distinctive tastes. My Chinese friend even argued that one of Chinese special dish called Peking Duck Wrap tasted completely different than back home. In addition, I was quite disappointed that I did not have much choices of meat as there were only beef patty, mussels, mostly Indian chicken dishes, few beef and lamb dishes. In contrast with Fed which provided you with lots of options of seafood such as octopus, prawns, fishes, as well as beef and lamb steaks.

However, the desserts in Red Hot are the best in town. There are various cakes, jellies, ice cream and fruits. We got more choice of flavors in Red Hot than FeD, eight flavors were available from the usual Vanilla ice cream to unique Christmas pudding flavor. Instead of the usual ones, I went for Christmas pudding flavor and it was great. A friend of mine also tried bubblegum and mint flavor which he said quite good too! I tried each and every cakes there, and neither of them disappointed me. If you love chocolate, I recommend Peanut and Chocolate Pailette as well as Chocolate and Walnut Brownies.

Evenmore, the fruity cakes such as Pineapple and Passion Fruit Citrus Bite, Citrus Glee Panacotta, and Trifle Pudding tasted real good. To my surprise, they also served Indian sweet which I would not find in FeD. It called Gulab Jamun, it tasted like round sponge cake covered with spiced caramel which was super tasty.

As a final thought, I will revisit Red Hot again, not for the food but for the desserts.
