Cardiff’s original farmers’ market: one of Wales’ most beloved hub for fresh local produce and winner of Slow Food Cymru Award 2019.

Every Sunday the market can be experienced opposite the magnificent Principality Stadium. By strolling down Fitzhamon Embankment alongside the river Taff, the smell of freshly cooked food and lively atmosphere will entice you.

The recent award winner was established in 1998 by local food enthusiasts as one market, it has since spread to Roath and Rhiwbina, along with a series of pop-up food events held around Cardiff.

One of the local regulars is Sharon, “I come every Sunday” she said, “I try to come early as I can, otherwise most of the products will be gone. I come for the Sourdough bread.” The bread she is referring to is from the stall ‘The Angel Bakery Abergavenny’.’

“Even if it is a bit more expensive, I rather have quality than quantity.”

Sharon thinks it is a great benefit for the local community to have a farmers market. “You will become a regular, they will speak to you every time.” The market has certainly become a staple for organic and quality sourced products to be enjoyed on a Sunday morning.
