What else can the government do to protect the Welsh language

According to the last statistic, 23% of the population in Cymraeg or Welsh in English. Until 1850, 90% of the population spoke Welsh, but it has since faced many challenges, sometimes almost extinct it.

The Welsh Language Act gave Wales the same status as English in all public institutions in 1992 and has been working to improve the language to this day. In some areas of Wales, this is the first language of people.

Welsh school students learn Welsh before they are 16 years old. Welsh schools are common and have Welsh TV channels, festivals, movies and more. An ambitious goal was announced last year: to double the number of Welsh speakers to 1 million by 2050.
