Enjoy a traditional Welsh Christmas

Welsh crafts make this Christmas Market a special shopping experience

The market is getting ready for its opening on Thursday

This year’s Christmas Market in Cardiff’s City Centre will open its doors again this Thursday, led by the Step Into Christmas event and the illumination of the city’s Christmas lights.

Among a few new crafts stalls this year will a new Bratwurst vendor. But this is not a German Christmas Market and predominantly displays Welsh crafts, informs Jane Hall from Craft*Folk, the Market’s organisers.

Crafts that can be found in the stalls include Welsh lovespoons, heritage images, jewellery and Welsh slate as well as local cheeses and wine and a traditional hog roast. There are also taster stalls displaying produce of new craft-businesses.

Another novelty this year are the hired chalets that Craft*Folk provide in cooperation with the Welsh Assembly for the first 10 days.
