Cardiff welcomes Black History Month

Black History Month sparks a cultural epidemic in Cardiff

Cardiff will host a multitude of events and activities throughout October as part of Black History Month.

The annual celebrations will take place at a variety of venues across the Welsh Capital, from local youth centres holding workshops to larger, free events at the Welsh Millennium Centre. The sheer scale and diversity of the October schedule means that anyone wishing to take part will have ample opportunity; there are often numerous events to explore on any given day, ranging from readings and exhibitions to dance shows, comedy and performance poetry.

Nicky Delgado, one of the organisers of Black History Month, described how they aim to show ‘history and present black involvement in Wales’, as well as ‘raising awareness’ through events that are ‘all-embracing.’
