Culture showcase to boost economy

Cardiff’s cultural showcase bids to strengthen the city’s economy.

Cardiff’s cultural industries will unite this autumn, under a new initiative aiming to boost the city’s creative economy.

@CreativeCardiff, set up by Cardiff & Co, will pull together events already established in the capital under one promotional banner.

Organisers hope that by strengthening the cultural community, Cardiff will gain a worldwide reputation as a thriving creative centre and more industry will be generated within the city-region.

A spokesman for Cardiff & Co said: “Instead of these events individually looking out at the world, @CreativeCardiff brings synergy and makes more from the collective.”

He added: “By bringing those people who are already operating in a creative field together, we can show the world that this is a supportive place to start, develop or expand your business in the creative industries.”
