CBD is on the new menu at a Cardiff Market café

A Cardiff Market café has launched a new autumn menu, featuring food and drink infused with CBD

A vegan kitchen has incorporated CBD into its new autumn menu.

The Greenery, located in Cardiff Market, serves seasonal, plant-based lunches, drinks and plant patisseries with a CBD twist.

Founded by chef Delyth Griffiths, The Greenery has created an attractive vegan menu.

Plant-based products are becoming increasingly popular – BB foodservice (a nationwide solution for caterers) conducted research with Alpro and found that the UK’s plant-based market was worth £443m in 2018.

The Greenery has infused several items on the menu with CBD. Cannabidiol (CBD) is an ingredient sourced from hemp plants.

CBD infused products are becoming increasingly popular. Vicky Perks, Director and Holistic Nutritionist for Beanfreaks advised that “the increased and continuing popularity of CBD products is down to its individual properties and its application for three key areas – helping sleep, easing pain, and calming anxiety.”

The Centre for Medicinal Cannabis (CMC), conducted market research and estimates that “the CBD market is currently one of the fastest-growing wellbeing product categories in the UK.” CMC believes the market will be worth almost £1B by 2025.

The new menu features a plant-based version of a Welsh classic – Welsh rarebit, and a vegan alternative to mac ‘n’ cheese, cleverly called, mac ‘no’ cheese.

Showcasing an entirely affordable menu, with prices starting at £3, The Greenery is catering for lunches on all budgets.

Lucy Williams, 26, from Cardiff and a customer at the Greenery commented, “it’s healthy, affordable and good for the planet.”

The Greenery’s menu has adapted to fit with the UK’s seasonal changes. This not only benefits the environment but the local community, here in Cardiff.

You can visit The Greenery at, 15 – 17 Cardiff Indoor Market, open Monday – Saturday, 11:00 – 16:00, or visit their website.
