Photography festival gets underway

Diffusion is Cardiff’s international festival of photography, and proves exactly that, as it kicks off the month with perhaps not a bang, but certainly a flash.

Spanning all of October, the annual festival takes place in a number of venues across Cardiff, and hosts a variety of exhibitions, events, performances and screenings.

Its theme for this year is Looking For America, and explores the meaning of the American Dream in relation to Wales, America and the world as a whole.

Emma Sanders, a regular Diffusion volunteer, said: “It’s really great to see how the festival engages people who would never normally even think about photography as being a form of art.”

Venues for the festival can be found in the city centre and Cardiff Bay.
